We are happy to introduce our new Pastor, Dan Gilliam and his wife Paige, who led his first worship service at Lake Rayburn UMC on Sunday, July 2nd.  He has been married for 40 years to Paige, who is a certified Nurse Midwife and is currently working in Longview.  They have three children:  Patrick (38), Daniel (36), and Sami (33).  He is excited to have been appointed to Lake Rayburn UMC and is looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Pastor Dan is a second career minister.  His undergraduate degree is in Chemistry, and he worked as a Lab Supervisor for over 20 years.  When he was on a mission trip to Costa Rica, he felt the call to ministry and started attending Seminary part time. He graduated from SMU Perkin’s School of Theology through the Houston Galveston program. In 2006, his first appointment was to First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline.   In 2009, he was ordained an Elder and appointed to Daingerfield First United Methodist Church where he served from 2010 until 2021 when he was appointed to Beckville UMC.
